HELPING LOCAL &
WHO CAN YOU SUPPORT?
Throughout Uganda, Rwanda and Malawi, we help provide clean drinking water to small rural communities through repairs to broken boreholes and the drilling of new additional boreholes. These Boreholes are designed to last for up to 20-50 years with adequate maintenance and support provided by Carbon Finance Funding.
Communities are offered water, sanitisation and hygiene training to help maintain the quality of the water. By providing clean water, communities no longer need to purify water through boiling. This alleviates pressure on local forests and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The project is estimated to impact 3,000 children, 5,700 adults, and reduces the incidence of diarrhea and even fatalities resulting from unclean water.
Since 2010 Eden Kafevend has supplied over 50,000 bottles of 500ml water to local and national fundraisers through the ‘Free Water For Fundraisers’ initiative launched online and we’re proud to offer our support to some very deserving charity causes across the UK.
Eden Kafevend recycle all water bottles and appreciate your efforts in doing the same with any donated bottles provided. We also request that you communicate this message on to the end consumers at your event.
SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA: IMPROVED WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PORTFOLIO
Nearly a billion people worldwide do not have access to safe drinking water. This project, based primarily in Uganda and Malawi, helps provide clean and healthy drinking water to communities which do not currently have access to such sources. It does this through repairs to broken boreholes and the drilling of additional boreholes. It delivers measurable sustainable impacts:
- Water stewardship
- Health and well-being
- Infrastructure development
- Empowering women
- Climate adaptation
